Help My WP is written by Syed Shahzaib Hassan, a WordPress and Shopify developer with 5+ years of experience and more than 400 custom projects behind him.
The site exists because most WordPress advice online has the same problem: it tells you to install a plugin. Need a size chart? Plugin. Need order limits? Plugin. Need to embed a review? Plugin. Do that ten times and you have a site that takes six seconds to load and breaks every time something updates.
Most of these problems have a smaller answer. That is what gets written up here.
Who is writing this
I started as a freelancer and now work as CMS Team Lead at TechUp Solutions, after moving from Developer to Senior Developer to leading the team. Along the way I picked up the Team Player of the Year and Communication King awards, which say more about how I like to work than about the code.
Every one of those 400+ sites was built or customised from scratch. No demo themes, no template imports.
What I work with
- WordPress — Elementor Pro, ACF, WooCommerce, custom post types, custom theme and plugin development
- Shopify — Liquid, custom templates, metafields, and functionality the theme editor will not give you
- Code — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
- The unglamorous parts — technical SEO troubleshooting and performance work, usually on sites somebody else built
A good chunk of my work is helping agencies and businesses get past a CMS limitation that looks like a dead end. That is normally where the interesting problems live.
Why the guides look the way they do
Every tutorial here is something I have actually had to solve, usually on a real client site with a deadline attached. That is why they include the parts that go wrong, not just the happy path.
Where a plugin genuinely is the right answer, the guide says so. Where twenty lines of PHP will do the same job without the overhead, it says that instead.
